The Dividing Lines Symposium is an event in which academics, artists, institutions, community organizations and figures can discuss and showcase African American, Native American and Afro-Amerindian research topics and perspectives.

The overall goal is to address the often overlooked interactions between Africans and Indigenous populations throughout the Americas in an interdisciplinary fashion. This is intended to be a potential annual event, laying the groundwork for more comprehensive studies in the future.
